Job Description
You will be required to work:
Hybrid Role - Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
In this key technical subject matter expert (SME) role, you will be responsible for managing a high volume of planning activity critical to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. This includes projects for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)—ranging from site upgrades and replacements to new site builds (both temporary and permanent)—as well as specialist initiatives involving Solar PV and EV technologies.
Working across multiple client programmes, you will be a collaborative team player with the expertise to lead and deliver on planning matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and planning appraisals to support the delivery of a wide range of projects.
- Prepare and manage planning applications through the full lifecycle, from submission to determination.
- Provide expert planning advice and collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Manage a substantial workload, including coordination with delivery partners and suppliers.
- Undertaking research and analysis to identify planning trends and project challenges.
- Conducting feasibility studies and assessments for new telecom infrastructure developments.
- Coordinating with local authorities, developers, and community representatives to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Producing and presenting comprehensive planning reports and related documentation.
- Ensuring alignment with planning regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Offering technical guidance and mentoring to junior planners and wider team members.
- Analysing market and network performance data to identify opportunities and improvements.
- Advising clients on legal and regulatory planning matters related to construction and development.
- Evaluating the impact of proposed developments from economic, social, and environmental perspectives.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Confidence in negotiation, networking, and presenting to various audiences.
- An interest in planning law, policies, and procedures.
- A creative and solution-oriented mindset.
- Sound commercial awareness and a good understanding of the telecoms sector.
- A collaborative working style and the ability to make informed decisions.
- Strong business management capabilities and proficiency in relevant software tools.
