Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We're working with a forward-thinking local authority in the North East, looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Children in Care team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment, where your work truly impacts children’s futures.
 
🌟 What you’ll be doing:

• Managing a capped caseload of 18, giving you time to focus on quality over quantity
• Building strong, meaningful relationships with children, families and professionals
• Carrying out Child & Family Assessments with clarity, empathy, and purpose
• Supporting children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and court
• Delivering high-quality care planning and direct work to improve long-term outcomes
• Ensuring all interventions are strengths-based, inclusive, and culturally competent
• Working closely with a supportive Team Manager and enjoying regular supervision
• Balancing office, field, and home-based working to suit your needs

✅ What we’re looking for:

• Registered with Social Work England
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience working with children & families
• Experience in Children in Care, Child Protection, and Court work
• A confident communicator and compassionate practitioner
• Able to demonstrate effective risk assessment, planning, and review
• Knowledgeable in key legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004
• A collaborative team player who thrives in a multi-agency setting
• Someone who’s committed to continuous improvement and child-centred practice
