As a Weighbridge Administrator, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the operations of a busy recycling centre. This role combines administrative tasks with the flexibility to assist with operational duties, including the potential to operate plant machinery like tractors or telehandlers. You’ll contribute to the smooth running of the weighbridge, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient waste processing while supporting a commitment to sustainability.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage weighbridge operations, including recording and processing vehicle weights for waste disposal.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, maintaining accurate records, and generating reports.
- Handle customer and driver interactions professionally, ensuring clear communication and excellent service.
- Monitor and verify waste types to ensure compliance with recycling and disposal regulations.
- Assist with operational tasks as needed, including operating plant machinery (e.g., tractors, telehandlers) if required and appropriately licensed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and safe working practices.
- Complete relevant documentation accurately and promptly.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the Site Manager or Supervisor immediately.
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient site environment.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the one-off project.
We’re seeking a proactive and adaptable individual with a strong mix of administrative and operational experience. You’ll need:
- Essential:
- Experience in both operational and administrative roles, ideally in waste management or a similar environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors and operate plant machinery (e.g., tractors, telehandlers) if required (relevant licences advantageous).
- Strong organisational and communication skills for managing records and interacting with customers/drivers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varying tasks.
- Commitment to health and safety practices and compliance with site policies.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Completed health declaration/questionnaire.
- Criminal convictions declaration.
- Up-to-date CV.
- Desirable:
- Experience operating plant machinery (e.g., tractors, telehandlers) with relevant licences.
- Familiarity with weighbridge operations or waste management processes.
- Basic IT skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Health declaration/questionnaire.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Criminal convictions declaration.
- Up-to-date CV.

- Two years of references/work history.
