Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: 5 weeks, starting 12/06/2025
Rate: PAYE: £12.59 per hour / Umbrella: £15.80 per hour

Are you a hardworking, reliable individual with a commitment to keeping our community clean and sustainable? We’re seeking three Recycling & Waste Operatives to join our team in Torfaen for a temporary 5-week role. Based at Panteg Way, New Inn, Pontypool, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential waste and recycling services in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

About the Role
As a Recycling & Waste Operative, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining high standards of waste management and recycling services. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collecting and sorting recyclable materials and waste in accordance with established procedures.
• Operating waste collection vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently (under supervision where required).
• Ensuring collection routes are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Assisting with the safe loading and unloading of waste and recycling materials.
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards at collection sites and within the workplace.
• Interacting courteously with the public, responding to basic queries where necessary.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Supporting the team in promoting recycling initiatives and environmental goals.

About You
We’re looking for enthusiastic and physically fit individuals with:

• A strong work ethic and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
• Reliability and punctuality to meet scheduled collection routes.
• A commitment to health and safety practices.
• An understanding of recycling and waste management processes (desirable but not essential, as training will be provided).
• The ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
