Hours: 37 hours per week (work pattern to be agreed with Team Manager)
Salary: PAYE: £29.22 per hour | Umbrella: £39.12 per hour

Are you a committed and professional Social Worker with a passion for supporting children, young people, and families? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking an experienced Level 3 Social Worker to join the Child Care Disability Team on a 12-week temporary assignment to cover a vacancy pending review. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide a high-quality social work service to children in need, children in need of protection, looked-after children, and (where relevant) care leavers.
• Develop and maintain effective joint-working arrangements with partner agencies and professionals.
• Attend reviews, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings, contributing professionally to planning and decision-making.
• Undertake ongoing assessments of children and their families to determine care and support needs.
• Agree desired outcomes and arrange interventions that best support children and families based on assessed need.
• Carry out case management duties, reassessing need and ensuring best-value support.
• Initiate safeguarding actions where service users may be at risk.
• Conduct statutory visits, safeguarding checks, and direct work with children and young people.
• Review care plans in line with statutory and organisational timescales.
• Maintain clear, accurate, up-to-date case records and complete documentation within required deadlines.
• Manage time effectively, balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in supervision, appraisal, and team meetings, actively contributing to service development.
• Identify gaps in services and record unmet needs appropriately.
• Promote equality, uphold confidentiality, and create a safe and positive work environment.
• Supervise students and unqualified staff, offering mentoring and professional guidance.
• Take responsibility for managing complex caseloads and, where required, chair reviews or case conferences.

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified Social Worker with a Social Work Degree/Diploma and registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of childcare legislation, safeguarding practices, and social work best practice.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and case management skills.
• Experience managing complex cases and working collaboratively within multi-agency frameworks.
• Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and maintain high professional standards.
• Commitment to equality, service improvement, and reflective practice.

Essential Requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• CV.
• Criminal Convictions Declaration.
• Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
• Enhanced DBS (if not currently on the update service, this will be required).
• Social Care Wales registration (or equivalent).
