Duration: 12 weeks (very likely to extend)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Work Pattern: 3–4 days in the office + property visits | 1 day remote
Salary: PAYE: £15.83+ per hour | Umbrella: £20.49 per hour

The Role – Make a Real Difference to People Experiencing Homelessness
Join the busy Private Sector Initiatives Team helping to source, book and manage temporary, transitional and settled accommodation across Newport.

Day-to-day you’ll be

• Booking emergency and longer-term temporary accommodation
• Managing rent accounts & keeping arrears low
• Carrying out property inspections and risk assessments
• Signing up new tenants (licence agreements, occupational contracts, HB forms)
• Identifying support needs & safeguarding concerns
• Moving people on to more suitable/permanent homes when ready
• Covering duty desk and phone queries

We’re looking for

• Previous experience in housing/homelessness services (council, housing association or charity)
• Strong customer-facing skills – calm, professional and resilient when under pressure
• Good admin & IT skills (rent accounts, spreadsheets, case recording)
• Full UK driving licence & own car (essential – mileage paid)
• Happy to be office-based 3–4 days per week + out on visits
