The Role
A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and adaptable English Teacher to join their department from September 2026 on a supply basis.
The role involves teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and structured lessons that support strong progress and attainment. You will play a key role in preparing students for GCSE English, developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, marking and assessment where required, and maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment with clear expectations for behaviour and achievement.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
• Have experience teaching English at secondary level
• Be confident delivering GCSE English Language and Literature
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Be flexible, reliable, and committed to supporting pupil progress
