The Role
An Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Redditch is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join their team from April 2026 on a long-term cover basis.
The role involves teaching Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, delivering thought-provoking lessons that explore key sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social issues. You will support students in developing critical thinking, essay writing, and analytical skills as they prepare for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and maintaining a focused and engaging classroom environment. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire discussion and encourage independent thinking.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
- Have experience teaching Sociology at KS4 and KS5
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons
- Have effective classroom management and communication skills
- Be organised, proactive, and committed to student achievement
