Geography Teacher – Maternity Cover

We are recruiting for a talented Geography Teacher to join an ‘Outstanding’ secondary school in Birmingham from September 2025 on a maternity cover contract. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a high-performing, well-resourced department that values both academic rigour and creative teaching.

The Role
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and marking all aspects of the Geography curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging, well-structured and accessible for students of all abilities. This is a full teaching role with responsibilities including classroom management, assessment, and contributing to departmental planning and enrichment opportunities.
This post would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT with a passion for their subject and a commitment to inspiring a love of Geography in young people.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold UK QTS or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4
  • Be confident planning and delivering creative, knowledge-rich lessons
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom presence
  • Be organised, enthusiastic, and committed to the academic progress of all learners
