*** £85 - £105 per day
*** Primary school, Central Wolverhampton

The Role:
Support KS1 pupils through 1:1 work, small-group intervention, and general classroom support. You will help reinforce early reading, writing, phonics, and number work, keep pupils engaged in lessons, prepare simple resources, and give clear feedback to the class teacher on progress. Teaching assistants commonly support classroom learning and help children with reading, writing, and other learning activities.

You are patient, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly to younger pupils. You want meaningful school-based experience, enjoy working as part of a team, and are keen to play a practical role in helping children develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude to learning.
Requirements
- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate. Enhanced DBS checks are used for people working with children and other eligible roles, depending on the duties involved.
- Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher or pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.
The School:
This primary school in Central Wolverhampton offers the chance to build valuable experience in a setting where classroom support, consistency, and pupil development matter. You will work closely with teaching staff in a role that gives you direct exposure to day-to-day primary practice, helping pupils at an important stage in their educational, social, and emotional development. National Careers says primary education covers children aged 3 to 11 and focuses on those areas of development.
