Production Operative

Production Operatives – Henstridge
Salary: £25,400 – £39,000 per annum (depending on shift & experience)
Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours (pre-authorised)
Shifts Available:

• Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00
• Mid Shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00
• Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 – 06:00

A well-established steel processing company is currently recruiting Production Operatives to join our team at our Henstridge site. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, safety-conscious workplace with excellent opportunities for training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a range of manual and CNC-based metal processing machinery
• Process steel to customer specifications, ensuring full traceability through our quality systems
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and instructions
• Safely operate forklifts, Combilifts, and overhead cranes
• Perform equipment checks at the start of each shift
• Prepare processed materials for dispatch (banding, palletising, bagging, etc.)
• Load and unload parts from plasma and laser machines
• Accurately identify steel types using measuring tools
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Report incidents, equipment faults, and safety concerns promptly
• Engage with health, safety, and environmental policies
• Support training and mentoring where needed

Experience & Skills Required:

• Experience using measuring equipment and reading technical drawings
• Forklift, Combi lift, or side loader experience
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality procedures
• Proactive and responsible attitude
