Job Description
This nurturing special school is looking to add an experienced Complex Need Teacher to its supportive team. Do you want to teach small classes where personalised learning, care and consistency help pupils thrive? This could be the role for you!
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will work with small classes of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, delivering a highly personalised curriculum that supports academic progress, communication and independence. You will create a calm, structured and engaging classroom where pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed. The school provides excellent support from experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists and senior leaders, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
This role would suit a patient and adaptable teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Previous experience in a SEND or complex needs is essential for this Special Need Teacher vacancy.
Job Role:
- Teaching small classes of primary-aged pupils with complex needs
- Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons
- Supporting pupils’ communication, independence and life skills development
- Creating a calm, inclusive and structured classroom environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
- Using a range of sensory and practical strategies to engage learners
- Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress
- Contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Teach small classes with excellent staff-to-pupil ratio
- Work in a supportive and well-resourced specialist school
- Be part of a dedicated and experienced staff team
- Receive ongoing support from leadership and specialist colleagues
- Be paid to scale in line with experience up to MPS 6
- Develop your SEND teaching expertise
