SEMH Class Teacher – Nurture Group
Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher looking to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to teach a small nurture group where relationships, consistency and personalised support help pupils thrive? This SEMH school in Solihull is looking to appoint a dedicated Class Teacher to lead a nurture group in a supportive and structured environment.

As a SEMH Class Teacher, you will work with a small group of pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to engage with education. You will deliver a personalised curriculum focused on both academic progress and social-emotional development, helping pupils build confidence, develop positive behaviours and re-engage with learning. The school offers a nurturing environment where staff work closely together to provide consistent support and structure for every pupil.

This role would suit a patient and adaptable teacher who can build strong relationships, manage challenging behaviour and create a calm, supportive classroom environment. Previous experience working with SEMH needs or in a nurture setting is highly desirable.

Job Role:
  • Teaching a small nurture group of pupils with SEMH needs
  • Planning and delivering personalised and differentiated lessons
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation and behaviour development
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Creating a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and pastoral staff
  • Supporting pupils to re-engage with education and learning
  • Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress
