As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be supporting students with a range of additional needs, delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and hands-on learning. You’ll work with small groups of students who benefit from structured teaching, clear routines, and a nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering creative and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Adapting teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
• Creating an inclusive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
• Using high-quality equipment and workshop spaces to bring learning to life
• Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff to support students’ academic and personal development
• Contributing to curriculum development and sharing ideas within the department
• Providing clear structure, routine, and positive behaviour support to ensure students feel safe and confident
• Tracking progress, assessing learning, and reporting outcomes effectively
• Helping students develop resilience, independence, and problem-solving skills through practical learning

The school is looking for a Design & Technology Teacher who:

• Is passionate about supporting students with additional needs
• Has experience teaching D&T at secondary level
• Can adapt lessons creatively for learners who require additional support
• Has strong communication, organisation, and behaviour-management skills
• Brings energy, patience, and a positive attitude to every lesson
• Is committed to contributing fully to school life and working collaboratively with colleagues
