Teaching Assistant – Year 6 – South Birmingham
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting a Year 6 class? This friendly one-form-entry primary school in South Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide vital classroom support in preparation for SATs and the transition to secondary school.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the class teacher to ensure every child feels supported, confident, and ready to succeed. You’ll provide small group and 1-2-1 support, assist with classroom management, and help to deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning.

Job Role:
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Providing 1-2-1 and small group support to pupils, particularly in English and Maths.
• Assisting with classroom organisation and behaviour management.
• Helping pupils prepare for SATs and supporting their emotional well-being.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Contributing to the school’s warm and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in Upper Key Stage 2.
• A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
