This is to work as a CP Chair, IRO, LADO 
 

• Independent Chair - The post holder will be responsible for Chairing Child Protection Conferences, overseeing the progress of child protection plans, undertaking midway reviews to prevent drift and delay and escalate any issues of drift and delay / increase in risk / social work practice.  

• The role also includes the role of Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), IRO's work with children in care, this being a statutory role. IRO's are responsible for reviewing the care planning for all children in care of the local authority. The post holder will be expected to utilise the dispute resolution pathway where there are concerns about care planning or social work practice, as well as highlighting strengths and good outcomes for children and their families.  

• The third element of the role involved allegations management, providing duty cover for the role of Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).
