About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join a supportive team within the West Berkshire area. This part-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background in safeguarding children and/or vulnerable adults and a passion for promoting safety and wellbeing in educational or social care settings.
Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead or support the DSL with referrals and safeguarding matters
• Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and service users
• Ensure that all safeguarding concerns are logged and responded to in line with statutory guidance
• Liaise with local authorities, social services, and external agencies
• Keep accurate and confidential records
• Deliver or support the delivery of safeguarding training and awareness sessions

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in safeguarding, social work, education, or a related field
• Proven experience in a safeguarding role within education, social care, or similar
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education, Working Together to Safeguard Children)
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
