SEND Caseworker – Wirral Council
Location: Wirral
Rate per hour: £34.82 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Caseworker to join Wirral Council’s SEND Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with strong EHCP knowledge and experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for parents/carers and young people throughout the EHC assessment process
• Coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments for children and young people aged 0–25
• Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, social care and voluntary agencies
• Ensure children, young people and families are fully involved in the assessment process
• Prepare and draft Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Ensure statutory timescales are met for assessments and reviews
• Lead and contribute to multi-agency meetings

Requirements:

• Previous experience within SEND/EHCP services
• Experience working with children and young people with SEND
• Strong report writing and person-centred planning skills
• Experience leading multi-agency meetings
• Excellent communication and partnership working skills
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work to deadlines
