Occupational Therapist – Islington Council
💷 £32.02 per hour | Hybrid working | Ongoing contract

Pertemps are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Islington Council’s Adult Social Care service. This is a hybrid role with a mixed caseload of adults and paediatrics, offering flexibility and the chance to make a real impact across diverse service areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a varied caseload with a range of complexities.
  • Act as care coordinator, ensuring person-centred approaches are followed.
  • Complete Mental Capacity Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Apply the Care Act 2014 throughout all casework.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and professionals to manage risk while supporting independence.
  • Promote personalisation and self-directed support, helping to validate support plans and identify unmet needs.
  • Provide advice and consultancy to colleagues, NHS partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and input data in line with council policy.
  • Participate in urgent response systems when required.
  • Safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults and ensure best practice at all times.
Requirements:
✅ Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
✅ Experience working with adults in social care or voluntary sector.
✅ Skilled in assessing needs and knowledge of available services.
✅ Strong understanding of legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and MCA 2005.
