Mechanical Assembly Technician

A leading manufacturer of test and measurement equipment based in Dorking, Surrey is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their high-performance production team.



This is a hands-on role requiring precision, focus, and a solid foundation in mechanical engineering techniques (and ideally CNC or manual machining knowledge).

You’ll be assembling both complete devices and intricate sub-assemblies, contributing directly to the build quality of industry-leading instrumentation.



Key Responsibilities:

Complex mechanical assembly of full units and sub-components


Drilling, tapping, helicoil installation, and push-fit component integration


Precision fettling and finishing to exacting standards


Working from detailed engineering drawings and build instructions


Collaborating with production and engineering teams to ensure quality and consistency



What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in mechanical assembly or engineering environments


Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail


Familiarity with precision tools and techniques


Ability to interpret technical documentation


A proactive, quality-driven mindset



Hours & Benefits:


Monday to Thursday: start at 6:00 or 7:00 AM, finish at 2:30 or 3:30 PM


Fridays: 5-hour day, finishing at 11:00 AM or 12:00 noon


Competitive salary: £37,000-£42,000, based on experience
