Job Description

Our client, The Open University, the UK's largest university and a global leader in flexible, inclusive education, is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Recruiter to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about people, diversity, and delivering meaningful impact through recruitment.

Job Title: Internal Recruiter
Location: Remote (with travel to Milton Keynes once a month)
Salary: £38,249-£45,413pa
Job Type: Up to full-time
Duration: Temporary for 3 months' (could lead onto something long term)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

This is a key position within a high-performing recruitment function. You will provide strategic recruitment support and advise to hiring managers, lead innovative talent attraction campaigns, and play an active role in promoting inclusive hiring practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert recruitment advice across areas such as candidate attraction, sourcing, screening, assessment, compliance, inclusive hiring, and recruitment technology.
  • Deliver and manage multiple recruitment campaigns and projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners and senior managers to align recruitment with future workforce plans.
  • Promote the organisation's brand and employee value proposition through LinkedIn, job fairs, and networking events.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced suppliers to ensure value and effective service delivery.
  • Ensure a high-quality, customer-focused recruitment service and seek opportunities for continuous improvement using data and technology.
  • Take ownership of personal development and stay current with recruitment trends.
Ideal Candidate
  • Significant experience in a 360 senior in-house recruitment role within a complex organisation
  • A strong advocate for diversity, with a track record of improving inclusive hiring practices
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and recruitment compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical ability and comfortable using recruitment systems (e.g. SAP Success Factors)
  • Highly resilient, collaborative, and passionate about delivering high-quality service
