What you’ll be doing as a Project Manager
- You will lead both internal teams and third-party collaborators, employing a combination of line management and matrix management approaches to ensure the successful on on-time, and on-budget delivery of project outcomes
- Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, define, baseline and maintain the project's scope, plan, resources and budget
- Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders to provide updates on the project progress and to maintain awareness of business needs and priorities
- Establish regular project review meetings covering cost, schedule, resources, RAID, and RAG statuses
- Create and maintain project cost models covering actual, accrual, and forecast – challenging costs to drive value
- You will work closely with our supplier and finance teams to optimise project resources and costs
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court, Reading
Working pattern – Monday to Friday, 36 hours
What you should bring to the role
While not mandatory, experience in utilities or water-related projects would be advantageous. We are looking for project managers with a wide range of experience who can bring this to their projects at Thames Water.
Essential
- Experience of different delivery methodologies, i.e. Agile, Waterfall
- Extensive experience in IT project management experience
- To be able to work with stakeholders up to the Head of Department level
- Meeting project goals within a specific timeframe
- Commercial and finance experience in establishing SOWs and planning project budgets
- Experience working on customer-facing IT projects – i.e. CRM’s, customer journeys, digital customer channels
- Qualifications such as PRINCE2 or equivalent
- Delivery of IT projects involving third-party suppliers
- Agile Project Management qualification or certification
- Competitive salary between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum depending on experience
- Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
