Sheridan Maine is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Semi Senior Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone who is part-qualified and looking to develop their technical skills and client exposure in a supportive and professional environment. You will assist in the preparation of accounts, tax returns, and audit assignments for a wide range of clients.

 
Key Responsibilities of the Semi Senior Accountant:
  • Prepare statutory year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Assist with the preparation of corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.
  • Support audit fieldwork under supervision, including planning, testing, and reporting.
  • Prepare VAT returns and management accounts as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records using cloud and desktop accounting software.
  • Liaise with clients to request information, resolve queries, and build relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and assist junior staff when required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company procedures.
 

The Successful Semi Senior Accountant Will Possess:
  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA or studying toward qualification.
  • 2+ years of experience in a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and UK tax.
  • Familiarity with cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused attitude.
