Job Description

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a leading organisation based in Bournemouth to recruit a commercially focused Financial Analyst (FP&A). This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW) looking to step into a high-impact FP&A / Commercial Finance role where finance truly partners with the business.
This is far more than a reporting role. You will sit at the heart of decision-making, working closely with senior stakeholders to turn financial data into meaningful insight and influence strategy.

The Role – FP&A Analyst
As a key member of the FP&A team, you will support the delivery of high-quality financial planning, analysis, and performance insight across the business. Reporting into the FP&A Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the consolidated review of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning (FP&A) across the Group
  • Delivering monthly management reporting, analysing group spend with clear commentary to support senior management decision-making
  • Producing performance reporting, KPIs, and variance analysis to inform strategic direction at Exec and Board level
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis on budgets, forecasts, and commercial initiatives
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Group annual budget and rolling forecasts
  • Developing financial models to support investment decisions and evaluate new development opportunities
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data to optimise performance
  • Driving improvements in reporting processes, automation, and data accuracy

About You – Financial Analyst / FP&A
We are looking for a commercially minded, proactive FP&A Analyst / Financial Analyst who can go beyond the numbers and tell the story behind them.
You will ideally have:
  • A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ICAEW) – newly qualified or close to completion
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present insights to non-finance stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making
  • A highly organised, process-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement and automation
