SHEQ Engineer

Are you an accomplished safety professional with experience in the offshore engineering sector? Looking for a challenging role with a high performing international company?

We're working with one of the world's foremost offshore engineering companies, and we are looking for a QHSE Engineer to join their team in Rotterdam.

With a focus on building relationships and raising safety awareness, both in the boardroom and in the field, this role will involve:

• Provide operational safety and quality support by preparing project materials for charters and advising on high‑risk tasks.
• Work with chartering teams to track and evaluate safety, health, and environmental risks during charter periods, organizing and leading risk reviews.
• Deliver expertise, documentation, and required materials such as integration guides.
• Assist the SHEQ function by conducting inspections, audits, and verifications, delivering training and familiarization sessions, and driving improvement initiatives in line with the SHEQ plan.
• Coordinate with vessels, project teams, and suppliers to investigate incidents, oversee corrective measures, and ensure timely resolution.

The ideal candidate?

• You'll have a strong track record (8+ years) of improving safety in high-risk environments, with experience in the offshore construction or marine environment
• Experience working at corporate level, as well as on projects
• Hold a recognised health and safety qualification
• Have worked internationally
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and relationships with stakeholders at all levels, a natural motivator
• Experience in incident and accident investigation, conducting internal audits, pre-qual and tender support for projects
• Fluent in Dutch and English
