JOB TITLE: Employment Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 4-6
LOCATION: Manchester
SALARY: Up to £80,000 (DOE)
THE ROLE:
You will support business clients across sectors, providing practical, solutions focused advice on a range of employment matters. Your work will include assisting with employment tribunal claims such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and wage disputes. You will also draft employment documentation including contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements. In addition, you will support senior colleagues on more complex matters including due diligence and TUPE-related advice, while advising SME clients on grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, restructures and redundancies. The role also involves conducting legal research, preparing reports and client guidance, and contributing to the team’s profile through training, articles or networking. You will have the chance to build long term client relationships and make a tangible impact within a growing employment team.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with 4–6 years’ PQE with solid experience in employment law. You will have assisted on Tribunal matters and/or drafted employment documentation and have strong drafting and attention-to-detail skills. You will be commercially minded, well-organised and confident in client facing situations. A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in both contentious and advisory work is essential. Experience with employer focused advisory or corporate support matters is advantageous but not essential.
