Welder/ Fabricator

Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for a Fabricator / Welder. This is a hands-on role involving the fabrication of steel components for a range of security products including gates and and barriers for a company based in Nailsea, BS49.

• £15-£17 per hour, DOE
• Monday to Friday role, 8am-5pm ( 37.5 hours per week )
• Asap start
• Based in Nailsea, BS48
• 2-3 week contract

Job responsibilities:

• Full production of metal fabrication– measuring, cutting, folding, welding, fitting, etc.
• General assembly work
• Fabrication of steel sheet and sections
• Metalwork, i.e. cutting and folding metal to create components.
• Heavy lifting of pieces for assembly
• Using own initiative to complete off-spec jobs, e.g. fixing damaged metal work.
• Liaise with other fabricators/staff to ensure optimum production efficiency and effectiveness are achieved.
• Use of appropriate handheld and powered tools and equipment to carry out the tasks set.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workplace environment compatible with an open workshop facility

Skills and requirements:

• MIG welding Experience ( essential )
• Strong sheet metal fabrication experience
• Using own initiative to complete off spec jobs
• Accurate measurement skills
• Attention to detail and good hand/eye co-ordination to achieve high quality work
• Reliability, good communication skills and teamwork ability
• Comfortable with heavy lifting
• Driving License ( desireable )
