Warehouse Supervisor needed!

Location: Coventry

Hours: Monday-Friday (7am-3pm or 8am-4pm)

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, fast-growing organisation within the manufacturing and distribution sector. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their operation and play a key role in driving performance, safety and efficiency across the site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring smooth day-to-day warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

o Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timely fulfilment
o Lead and support the warehouse team, setting clear KPIs and conducting regular performance reviews
o Implement and maintain best practices across warehouse and logistics
o Maintain strong communication with internal teams, management, and suppliers
o Ensure all Health & Safety standards, audits, risk assessments and compliance measures are consistently adhered to
o Manage staffing levels, absences, HR matters and training requirements
o Monitor and improve inventory control and stock accuracy, working closely with logistics
o Conduct regular equipment checks and site maintenance scheduling
o Complete cycle counts, inbound/outbound checks, and oversee returns processes
o Produce operational reports on productivity, quality, and service levels
o Identify and drive process improvements, utilising systems such as SAP or similar WMS
o Act as first point of contact for site alarms and operational issues

Daily & Weekly Tasks

o Complete H&S checks and maintain full compliance
o Log HR-related matters (sickness, absences, timekeeping)
o Conduct equipment and building maintenance checks
o Manage daily workload, ensuring customer requirements are met
o Oversee housekeeping across all warehouse areas
o Ensure cycle counts, stock checks, and corrections are completed
o Ensure returns are processed accurately and on time
o Check all outbound orders prior to dispatch
o Log departmental non-conformances and implement corrective actions

Person Specification
o Strong knowledge of Health & Safety
o Excellent leadership and communication skills
o Ability to delegate while maintaining operational control
o Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, WMS)
o Highly organised with strong planning skills
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead by example

Experience - Essential
o Valid UK driving licence
o Reach & Counterbalance FLT licences
o Minimum 3 years' experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
o Strong understanding of warehouse management and best practice
o Experience implementing process improvements
o Excellent people management skills
o Knowledge of SAP WMS (desired)
o Ability to work to deadlines and manage change effectively
o Strong coordination, problem solving and time management skills
