About the Role

We’re recruiting for a forward-thinking Head of Engineering to lead and develop an engineering division, embedding Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and delivering excellence across manufacturing operations. This is a senior leadership position, overseeing strategic projects, driving innovation, and shaping engineering strategies that deliver measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Deliver enterprise-wide Lean Six Sigma and CI initiatives with measurable results.
  • Oversee complex, large-scale projects with multi-million-pound budgets.
  • Shape and implement long-term engineering and asset strategies.
  • Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through Lean and TPM.
  • Develop refurbishment and investment plans, including new line proposals.
  • Partner with HSE to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Implement structured AM (Autonomous Maintenance) and PM (Preventive Maintenance) programs.
  • Optimise production line changeovers using SMED to minimise downtime.
  • Introduce a robust reactive maintenance strategy focused on efficiency and root cause analysis.

What You’ll Bring
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (essential).
  • Proven track record in senior engineering leadership.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong background in Continuous Improvement, Lean, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, developing talent, and driving cultural change.
  • Strategic, hands-on leader with strong communication and project management skills.
