EDM Engineer

Riverside Recruitment are seeking a skilled EDM Engineer to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer based in Glasgow.

The Role
As an EDM Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Spark and Wire Erosion machines to perform high-precision EDM machining operations, producing complex components to tight tolerances within a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating Spark Erosion and Wire Erosion machines
• Loading raw materials and unloading finished components
• Adjusting machine settings to ensure optimal machining performance
• Working from technical drawings and manufacturing to precise customer tolerances
• Following all operating procedures, safety guidelines, and process documentation
• Maintaining accurate logs of production issues, equipment adjustments, and repairs
• Conducting machine inspections for mechanical or safety concerns
• Ensuring machines remain stocked with tooling and materials to minimise downtime
• Maintaining a strong safety focus while working around operational machinery
• Providing flexibility to support production requirements during busier periods

Qualifications & Experience

• Time served EDM Engineer or equivalent relevant experience
• Proven experience in Spark Erosion and Wire Erosion machining
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
• Experience working to high quality standards on precision components
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety regulations and procedures

Working Hours

• Full-time, permanent position
• 37 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, three-shift rotation covering early, back, and night shifts
