Job Title: Porter

Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour

Location: Various locations across Edinburgh

Dates: 3 days of work (30^th August, 6^th September & 7^th September)

Hours: 9am-5pm

Induction: Must be available to attend induction on 29^th August (1pm-3pm)

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

• Unloading luggage and personal belongings from vehicles
• Transporting luggage into accommodation buildings (using lifts where necessary)
• Directing vehicles to appropriate unloading zones
• Providing a friendly and helpful first point of contact during move-in
• Monitoring entrance areas to manage flow and avoid congestion
• Reporting any maintenance or safety issues observed
• Keeping lobbies, corridors, and lifts clear and safe during move-in hours
• Supporting the accommodation team with general duties as needed

 

Key Skills:

• Able to lift, carry, and move heavy luggage safely
• Understands safe lifting techniques
• Able to give directions and answer basic questions clearly and politely
• Create a welcoming first impression for new students and families
• Work well with others to ensure a smooth move-in process
