Job Description
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00, Friday 07:00–13:00
Overview
An established manufacturing business is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen its quality and production support function. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance, improving processes, and supporting both quality control and production planning activities across the shopfloor.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Lead and support feasibility reviews for new and existing products
- Manage and support PPAP processes and associated documentation
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Support production scheduling and planning activities to ensure smooth workflow
- Work closely with production teams to support quality control and inspection processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing performance
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality-related issues
- Support audits and maintain accurate quality records and documentation
Requirements
- Experience working within a manufacturing quality environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
- Experience with PPAP, feasibility reviews, and quality documentation
- Understanding of production planning and scheduling processes
- Hands-on experience supporting shopfloor quality control activities
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience within precision manufacturing or engineering environments preferred
